Hurry Up! Seed Financing for New Start-Up Businesses is ending soon

costs-benefitsStarting Nov 2013, Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) and Extreme Startups partnered to further accelerate the growth of the next generation of technology companies businesses in the area of digital media and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

This collaboration was established to jointly deliver business advisory services, education and seed financing to qualified SmartStart program start-ups and entrepreneurs. OCE will provide approved students or recent graduate-led start-ups in the area of ICT and Digital Media with up to $30,000 in seed funding to be matched by Extreme Start-ups’ $30,000 investment. In addition to these initial investments, BDC Venture Capital previously announced that it may invest up to $150,000 to start-ups upon completion of the Extreme Start-ups program.

Eligible applicants must be either students at the master’s or doctoral level, or graduates from university (graduate or undergraduate) or college advanced diploma programs. In all cases, the lead applicant must be from Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) programs and a founder of the company:
